Bioocular Transcerebral Iontophoresis, a technique very similar to Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation, is a technique deriving from France. It was developed by Georges Bourguignon, MD, DSc in the early 1920s. He used it to treat brain injuries in veterans of the Great War. It was used to great effect in traumatic brain injuries, but also in many other disorders of the brain, such as multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, post stroke syndromes, and general cerebral inflammation.

This Technique was passed on to Dr Joseph Saine, MD who practiced it on thousands of patients in Montreal, where it was passed onto Dr. Andre Saine, ND, DC, who has administered many thousands more. Dr. Paul learned the technique from Dr. Saine and Dr. Stephanie Ogura in November 2017 in his clinic in Montreal. You can read more about this treatment on their website, here. As far as is known, Dr. Paul is the only person outside of Montreal to perform this procedure.

This technique is an excellent one to attempt with any neurological or brain injury. Dr. Paul has experienced good success with rehabilitation of post stroke injuries, even decades after they have occurred.

Treatment typically is roughly 45-60 minutes and costs $60. It is often combined with constitutional hydrotherapy. Typically treatment is 4 times weekly for 2 weeks. Results typically manifest quickly, although a small percentage of patients will show gain afterwards.
